The junior department is comprised of pupils aged 7 - 11 in Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum. The timetable is more structured and subject specific and prepares the children for eventual transition to secondary school. Pupils are taught by their class teacher in their own classroom and benefit from specialist subject teachers in French, Music, ICT, Speech, Dance, Tennis and Swimming.
Homework is gradually increased in the Junior Department and in this way we establish good study habits from an early age. Children's progress is regularly assessed by the class teacher using a wide range of appropriate test material. This enables us to track children's learning and provide the necessary support or extension work.
In years 3, 4, 5 and 6 as part of the children's development, they have the opportunity to take part in exciting residential courses, which enhance the curriculum as well as encouraging self confidence and building life skills.
