Who are the Friends of King's School?
The Friends of King's School are a group of parents and staff who raise funds for the school to use to benefit the children. It is akin to what used to be called a PTA.
How are funds raised?
Every Friday after school there is a tuck shop in the dining room, popular with parents and children alike!
Fundraising events include a Summer Barbecue, Christmas Fair, Quiz Nights and coffee afternoons for parents to meet.
The next event is the May Fair on Thursday 27th May 2010 - more details to follow.
How is the money spent?
Examples of activities funded by Friends of King's School include a spring disco, puppet shows, theatre visits, visiting musicians and a children's entertainer at school events. Friends also fund the upkeep of the much loved fish tank in the foyer. Friends have bought extra sport and playground equipment and recently purchased an outdoor classroom for the school's garden.
If you would like to join Friends, help to organise events and think of new ways to help the School, please contact the school secretary.
