The School Council is an elected committee of junior school pupils (with the assistance of Miss Thompson and Miss Farnsworth). They work together for the benefit of the school and arrange fundraising events in support of both local and international charities. Last year the School Council sold cakes and held a ‘Native American Day’ to raise money to purchase three wicker tepees for the school's garden.

This year the School Council are looking at ways to fight poverty; they will be finding ways of promoting and selling Fair Trade products within the school as a way of supporting farmers and workers in the developing world. At the Christmas Fair the members of the School Council will be taking it in turns to run a stall selling Fair Trade dried fruit and chocolate as well as toys and puzzles; all the money raised will go to Fair Trade.
In 2012 as part of the ‘Flush Away Poverty’ campaign, the Council will be raising money for toilets in some of the most deprived areas of the world, where poor sanitation creates a risk to health.
