Sir Chris Woodhead Opens New Hall and Classrooms at King’s School and Nursery (Independent Co-educational School 0-11 years), Plymouth.
Parents of King’s School and Nursery and invited guests enjoyed an evening of celebration marking the official opening of its brand new hall & classrooms.
The school welcomed education specialist and Cognita Schools Chairman Sir Chris Woodhead, who was delighted to meet parents, pupils and staff and see the state of the art facilities resulting from the £1.6m Cognita investment. The energy efficient new build provides hall space for assemblies, productions, sport and the many and varied extra curricular activities on offer at the school. In addition there are 6 new classrooms, all with interactive whiteboards, and further nursery space offering expansion opportunities for King’s School and Nursery.
The children of King’s School performed a medley of music, singing, speech and drama to a delighted audience. The evening also included speeches from Sir Chris Woodhead and the companies responsible for the project design and construction that is Marc Nash, Director, representing Architects Design Group and Richard Ellis, Regional Director representing Interserve Construction Ltd
Jane Lee, King’s School Head Teacher said, “This new facility will be a real asset supporting children in their education and development for many years to come. We have already used the hall for several productions and basketball with Plymouth Raiders. The official opening ceremony was a wonderful evening of celebration bringing together pupils past and present, parents and staff and everyone who made the vision a reality.”
