Admissions Process

Plymouth School Admissions

We look forward to welcoming you to our school. The process for admissions is as follows:

Step 1

Request a Prospectus

Contact Mrs Phare, Registrar, for an initial conversation about your child and to check availability in the relevant year group. Alternatively, please complete our enquiry form to request a prospectus or to join us at one of our Open Days.

Step 2

Visit

Arrange to visit King’s School or the nursery unit for a personal tour to discuss all aspects of school life and experience the atmosphere. Parents will be given the opportunity to meet the Headteacher and to see the school during a normal school day.

Step 3

Taster Day

For children of reception age and above we offer taster days.

Step 4

Register

Complete a registration form and pay a non-returnable £75 registration fee. Registration is an indication of interest and is not a guarantee of a place.

Step 5

Offer

Depending on your child’s age, a formal offer of a place is made subject to a positive taster session and availability. Children will be assessed informally within the classroom. The admissions policy aims to ensure that King’s School will provide the most appropriate education for your child.

Step 6

Confirmation of Place

Entry is confirmed when the acceptance documentation is returned with the deposit, which is refundable, less any outstanding items, at the end of your child’s final term at King’s School. If a child is withdrawn after the deposit has been paid, the first term’s fees will be charged in lieu of notice. Further information may be found within our Terms and Conditions, which is available from the Registrar upon request.

Step 7

Settling In

Settling in sessions are arranged according to age.
